Dave Solazzo has been a mainstay of the Central New York music scene for over 20 years. Much in demand as a soloist and sideman, Dave has worked with artists from a wide mix of genres, from jazz, fusion, R&B and beyond. He has performed and recorded with major jazz artists like Chuck Mangione, Larry Coryell and Dick Oatts and at venues like The Flatiron Room (NYC), Troy Music Hall and the Savannah Jazz Festival.
In addition to his work as a sideman, Dave performs with the Dave Solazzo Trio, an acoustic trio (piano, upright bass and drums) that plays post bebop interpretations of jazz standards and originals in the spirit of Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau.
Dave was educated at Berklee College of Music and SUNY Purchase College. He has taught Jazz History at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, New York and Jazz Piano at Colgate University. Dave currently teaches Jazz Piano at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
