Minor/Major
The Music Minor
Jazz students from any college, school, and undergraduate major may earn a Music Minor exclusively from jazz coursework. Below are a few recommendations from director Paul Merill who is available to discuss options and serve as a Music Minor adviser.
Core Theory Requirement (3-5 credits)
Options for the Core History Requirement (3-5 credits)
Options for the Core Performance Requirement (3 credits, at least two credits must come from Collaborative Performance courses)
Options for Core Electives (8 credits from Theory, Materials, and Techniques, History and Culture, or Collaborative Performance courses)
The Music Major
The Music Major is also an option for jazz students from the Arts and Science College. It can be combined with other majors.
